the dreamspell calendar is a simplified version of the mayan calendar
which in addition to keeping track of what day it is, provides
us with information about natural cycles. the calendar that most
of the world uses now, the gregorian calendar, does not provide
this information. it is vital to our health and the health of
our mother earth for us to be in tune with these natural cycles.
as humanity has lost its awareness of natural time, so have we
lost our connection with mother earth.

this information is a tool to help you change the way you perceive time and allow you to re-connect with the natural energy cycles of the world we share. after hundreds of years of drifting further and further away from mother earth and each other, it is time to re-unite. a divine plan is unfolding and flowing forth in perfection, changing the modality of humanity from belief to knowledge.
the calendar that is dominant in the world today is called the
gregorian calendar. it is named after pope gregory the 13th and
it has been with us since 1582. this calendar is based on 12 unevenly
divided months and has no apparent link to any naturally occurring
cycle. the number of weeks in a month is irregular. there doesn't
seem to be any sense to the way its been arranged. it's as if
it has been intentionally organized to remove those who use it
from their connection with nature. unfortunately, the majority
of people are tied very closely to this calendar. every law and
monetary transaction has this calendar tied to it.

the mayan people developed a calendar long before the gregorian calendar came into existence. the mayan calendar is based on naturally occurring energy cycles and a close connection to mother earth, the sun, and the pleiades. because the maya honored mother earth and the energy cycles that are present here, they were in tune with the cycles. they had access to information that is not available to 'modern people' because 'modern people' are extremely limited by their belief systems.
the maya gained knowledge about many cycles which occur on earth.
they recognized a 13-day cycle of energy which comes from galactic
sources. they also came to know a 20-day energy cycle coming from
the sun. by studying the cycles and their interaction with each
other, the maya gained an understanding of life on earth that
far exceeds our 'modern' beliefs. fortunately, this knowledge
is becoming available to us at this time to assist in our 'return
to natural harmony'.

within the last ten years, many ancient mayan prophecies have been revealed. one of the most significant prophecies is the telektonon, from the mayan prophet pacal votan. this prophecy speaks specifically about the period of time from 1987 to 2012ad. it calls for the adoption of a '13 moon calendar'. the messengers of this prophecy are jose and lloydine arguelles. randy bruner has designed a calendar which incorporates the telektonon and the natural cycles of the mayan calendar.
almost all indigenous peoples are aware of the moon's cycles and
its effects on all life on earth. native american peoples have
long used the shell of a turtle to track the 13 lunar cycles which
occur each year. the shell of the turtle contains 13 platelets,
one for each month. it has also been part of the traditions of
native americans to honor the 4 directions of mother earth.

the dreamspell calendar incorporates 4 major energy cycles and provides daily information about each cycle. the calendar is organized in 13 'moons' of 28 days each plus one 'free day' to make up a 365 day year. the 4 directions of mother earth are honored by a 4-day cycle which corresponds to east, north, west and south. the 13-day galactic energy cycle observed by the maya is honored as well as the 20-day solar energy cycle.
the attunement process is so simple, it may be hard to accept.
spending about two minutes each day is enough to enable you to
resonate with mother earth and the natural timing frequency. at
first you may notice that you are not hurrying as much as the
"can't get there fast enough" frenzy starts to dissipate.
this frenzy is caused by interference from machines and the artificial
timing of the gregorian calendar. later more changes in your perception
may come.

the dreamspell calendar is a spiritual tool that has surfaced very recently. it is closely aligned with the mayan calendar (although the two calendars are not identical). the most important similarity between the two calendars is the recognition and honoring of naturally occurring energy cycles. these energy cycles were known to the ancient maya and much of their wisdom about the nature of time is contained in their calendar. the ancient maya understood time to be the passage of cycles. they studied and mapped the cycles of mother earth, the moon, the sun, the pleiades, the galaxy and the universe. they have much to teach us about the cycles.
i have prepared this document for you. i have been strongly pulled to this knowledge since the spring equinox of 1995. i make no claim that i have all the knowledge or that my views are the only "correct" viewpoint. the notion that there is only one answer or viewpoint for any question is very limiting. we are all limited by our beliefs. my intention or wish in presenting this information is that you would question your beliefs. understand that i do not wish to cause you discomfort or agony. i wish that you would come to love yourself completely. the creator has made us all, to be unique, to have a unique perspective.

about 6000 years ago, the ancient egyptians developed a calendar which consisted of 12 months of 30 days plus 5 days of celebration. starting on july 27, these 5 days of celebration honor the births of osirus, horus, seth, isis, and nephthys. on august 1, the new year begins. in ancient times, the beginning of the year was marked when the star sirius rose at the same place that the sun rose.
in 46 b.c., julius caesar asked the astronomer sosigenes to develop a uniform calendar so that all of the lands he controlled could use the same calendar. sosigenes set up the julian calendar with 365 days per year and an extra "leap day" added every 4th year. this was based on his observation that the year was 365 days, 6 hours long. the julian calendar was divided into 12 uneven months that didn't correspond very well to the lunar cycle but apparently this was not considered to be that important. augustus caesar changed the name of the 6th month to august and borrowed a day from february to make august 31 days long. he wanted august to be as long as july, the month named after julius caesar.
as linear time went on, it was observed by astronomers who measured the time from one vernal (spring) equinox to the next, that the year was slightly shorter than 365 days, 6 hours. in 1990, the solar year was calculated to be 365 days, 5 hours, 48 minutes, and 45.5 seconds. in the christian religion, easter is celebrated on the first sunday following the first full moon after the spring equinox. as a result of the slight error in the julian calendar, the date of easter was slipping.
in 1582 a.d., pope gregory the 13th changed the julian calendar. he declared that the day following october 4, 1582 would be october 15, dropping 10 days from the calendar. he also changed the calendar so that leap years would be skipped on century years unless the year was divisible by 400. this calendar would come to be known as the gregorian calendar.
the calendar that is dominant in the world today is the gregorian calendar. this calendar is based on 12 unevenly divided months and has no apparent link to any naturally occurring cycle. it's as if it has been intentionally organized to remove those who use it from their connection with nature. unfortunately, the vast majority of people on earth today are tied very closely to this calendar. every law and monetary transaction has this calendar linked to it.
the maya developed their calendar long before the julian or gregorian calendars came into existence. the mayan calendar is based on naturally occurring energy cycles and a close connection to mother earth, the sun, and the pleiades. because the maya honored mother earth and the energy cycles that are present here, they were in tune with the cycles. they had access to information that is not available to 'modern people' because 'modern people' are extremely limited by their belief systems.

the mayan calendar goes way beyond what we think of as a calendar. it is not merely a way to find out what the day of the week is or how long it is until a friend's birthday. it is a carefully constructed map of the cycles of natural time, cycles within cycles. the mayan calendar is multi-leveled. on the base levels of the calendar, it maps the daily cycles and in higher levels it maps larger blocks of time. on the top level, it maps the great year (the grand cycle) of 26,000 years, the orbit of our solar system around alcyone, the central sun of the pleiades.
the dreamspell calendar incorporates a great deal of the wisdom of the lower levels of the mayan calendar in a form that is easy to understand for someone that is accustomed to the gregorian calendar. it is a daily calendar and it brings to our awareness the daily energy cycles. i view the dreamspell calendar as a way to help us transition from the artificial timing of the gregorian calendar and once again resonate with natural time and the daily energy cycles.

pacal votan was an ancient mayan king who incarnated on earth from 631 to 683 a.d. he established the mayan city of palenque in mexico. pacal's tomb is located inside the temple of inscriptions in palenque. pacal is a very highly evolved being and during his lifetime on earth, the mayan people flourished. pacal left behind a prophecy known as the telektonon.
in the late 1980's, josé argüelles came to understand the telektonon prophecy. he mysteriously received an ancient mayan text from a man in cuba which he initially didn't think was very significant. after he translated it, he realized that it was the telektonon prophecy of pacal votan. the telektonon speaks of the period of time from 1987 to 2013. the dreamspell calendar was developed as a result of understanding the prophecy. it called for humanity to embrace a calendar based on 13 moons and the mayan energy cycles. josé received further information directly from pacal through telepathy and intuition. josé and his wife lloydine have dedicated their lives to spreading the knowledge of the telektonon prophecy.

the maya referred to the creator as hunab k'u. they teach us that hunab k'u is sending out a beam of energy throughout the universe. this beam originates at the great central sun of the universe and is carried through the universe by the stars. one of the many purposes of our sun is to relay the galactic synchronization beam to each of us. i envision the beam traveling from the great central sun of the universe, to the central sun of our galaxy, through alcyone (the central sun of the pleiades), to our sun, and to us. the beam keeps everything synchronized so that the grand evolutionary event which is upcoming will occur as the creator has planned it. it is very important at this time to connect with the sun because it will greatly aid our participation in the divine plan.
your heart is your divine connection to hunab k'u, the source, god, allah, or whatever name you chose to call the creator, the one that is all. when your body was created for this lifetime, your heart was genetically encoded with all the information you would need to complete your life's mission. listen to your heart. listen to the sun. listen to the moon. listen to the earth. listen to the stars.

certainly, humanity has done harm to mother earth by pollution, destruction of the forests, and over-population. these are physical manifestations of humanity's loss of connection with our earth mother. as we have drifted further away from living close to nature, we have forgotten to acknowledge and give thanks for the many blessings we receive from her. how long would we live without her beautiful atmosphere that we breath without thinking? without clean water, none of us would be around too long. without the light of the sun, we would be very cold and surrounded in darkness. we have come to focus only on the physical aspects of reality, forgetting the great spirit all around us, embodied in every being and every thing. our loss of connection with nature has fueled our greed and our feelings of separation.
all beings are interconnected to each other. when we acknowledge our interconnection to all that is, we return to living honorably. by honor, i mean the recognition that everything you do, everything you think and everything you feel effects the entire universe. this is not to say that it is always immediately obvious what the effect is. but when you come to realize that everyone and everything is part of you and you part of them, you treat them differently, with honor.
it is important to honor the natural energy cycles. the mayan and dreamspell calendars are a great way become more honorable. i believe that the maya foresaw what would be happening on earth at this time and left their calendar for us to assist us in returning to honor. our reality is time, place and spirit. the mayan knowledge is full of great revelations for us all about the interrelationship of all that is. we can re-establish our connection to nature by returning to an honorable way of living.

above you can see the 20 tribes (solar cycle) of the dreamspell calendar". mouse-over each glyph to see the tribe number and english name for each glyph as well as the mayan name. these 20 glyphs correspond directly to the glyphs that the ancient maya used to honor the energy cycle of the sun.
the mayan knowledge teaches us that each day an energy is present which comes to us from the sun. these energies cycle through every 20 days. by honoring this cycle of energy, we are blessed with synchronicity. we gain insights about reality that we had missed before we attuned to the solar energy cycle. each day of the cycle offers us gifts that we may receive simply by tuning in. as you will find when you start to resonate with the sun, each of the 20 energies has attributes and characteristics. for example, night (akbal) is an energy which supports abundance and intuition. eagle (men) is an energy conducive to creativity and vision. this is not to say that you cannot be creative on days other than eagle, but that it will be easier and will flow more smoothly on those days.

dots = 1
bars = 5

above you will find another chart labeled "the 13 tones (galactic cycle) of the dreamspell calendar". this chart shows the mayan numbers which correspond to the 13 day galactic energy cycle. below each mayan number, is the number in our notation and a keyword associated with that number. these mayan numbers are the same that the ancient maya used to identify the days of the galactic energy cycle.
the mayan number system is quite simple. a dot represents one and a bar represents five. you just add up all the dots and bars to find the number. in the 13 tones chart, you can see the mayan numbers 1 through 13. the mayan numbering system uses base 20, instead of base 10 which we use. each of the numbers in the chart is one digit in mayan.
in a similar way to the 20 day cycle, the 13 day galactic energy cycle produces a different energy for each day. in the galactic cycle, there are 13 different energies. after the 13th day of the cycle, it starts again the next day at 1. the galactic energies are different that the solar energies. each galactic energy has its own attributes and characteristics. for example, the 11th day, spectral is supportive of releasing and liberation. the 6th day, rhythmic, is a day which is good for balancing and organizing.

above is a diagram which shows the 4 days which make up the earth energy cycle. the native americans have taught us about honoring the 4 directions. this energy cycle is in alignment with those teachings. the dreamspell calendar honors this energy and shows us how this energy cycles daily. each day has a color associated with it and one of the 4 elements.
the 4 day cycle is very closely aligned with the 20 day cycle. when you think about the mathematics of 4 and 20, 4 divides evenly into 20. because of this, the color from the 4 day cycle is always the same for each day of the 20 day cycle. for example, storm (cauac) is always blue. star (lamat) is always yellow. within the 20 day cycle, there are 5 cycles of 4 day earth energy. each time the 20 day cycles starts again, the 4 day cycle also starts again.
the 1st day is red. it is associated with the east direction and the element of earth. it is the beginning of the 4 day cycle and its energy is a good one to begin things.
the 2nd day is white. it is associated with the north direction and the element air or wind. this day is one of growth and sometimes there can be growing pains.
the 3rd day is blue. it is associated with the west and the element water. it has a healing energy to it (a good energy to follow growth).
the 4th day is yellow. it has the south direction and the element fire. yellow days are generally very pleasant and there is a feeling of completion.

the galactic signature is a combination the 4 day, 13 day and 20 day cycles. it is represented as 3 words. the first word is the color of the 4 day earth energy cycle. the second word is the name associated with the 13 day galactic cycle. the third word is the english word for the glyph of the 20 day solar energy cycle.
examples:
blue magnetic night - 3rd day in the 4 day cycle, 1st day in the 13 day cycle, 3rd day of the 20 day cycle.
red spectral skywalker - 1st day in the 4 day cycle, 11th day in the 13 day cycle, 13th day of the 20 day cycle.
it is a good thing to know your personal galactic signature. you can find this easily by using the dreamspell calendar software and finding the galactic signature for your birthday. for further instructions, see the section about the using the software.

there is another energy cycle which comes to us from the moon. this cycle takes 28 days to complete and 13 complete cycles occur each year. when you multiply 13 times 28, the result is 364. since there are 365 days in one orbit of the earth around the sun, there is an extra day following the completion of the 13th moon called "a day out of time". this is a day to meditate, relax, and contemplate the upcoming year.
the names of the 13 moons are the same as the names of the days of the 13 day galactic cycle (see 13 galactic cycle). the days within each cycle are numbered from 1 to 28. for example, the day electric 14, is the 14th day of the 3rd moon (electric).
when scientists measure the cycle of the moon, they come up with the 'fact' that it takes 29.53059 days of linear time for one complete cycle of the moon as we observe it. actually, it takes 27.33 days for the moon to orbit the earth, but the earth is moving with respect to the sun so the combined movement results in 29.53 days. if you work through the calculations, this indicates that there are about 12.368 observed lunar cycles in a 365.25 day year, but the moon orbits the earth 13.36 times per year.

for each day of the dreamspell calendar, there is a daily affirmation. to help you attune to the energy cycles, the daily affirmation should be read each day. the affirmation combines keywords which relate to the energy cycles and merges the energies together in a form that can be read. sometimes the exact meaning of the affirmation may not be totally clear on an intellectual level. however, it is important to read it each day even if it doesn't make sense to you. i think you will find as you work with the calendar, you will come to understand the daily affirmation more and more.
you can formulate the affirmation yourself. it will probably help you to understand the affirmations better if you follow through the steps and see how the energies are combined and merged.
using the 13 moon dreamspell calendar, first locate the day on the calendar which you want form the affirmation for. the calendar will give you the galactic signature for the day, the day glyph, the guide glyph and an asterick if it's a portal day.
:: find kin - dreamspell portal - opens in new window!
using the day glyph (large glyph), locate the line from "the 20 tribes affirmation table" (above) which corresponds to the day you're working with. similarly, locate the line from "the 13 tones affirmation table" (above) which corresponds to the number (bars and dots). fill in the following formula using the keywords found in the columns labeled [a], [b], [c], [d], [e], [f].
:: view tone attributes to fill in the blanks - opens in popup!
locate the guide glyph (small glyph) using the software.
:: work out guide kin to fill in the blank - opens in popup!
if it's the same as the day glyph, add the following line:
if it's different, locate the line from "the 20 tribes affirmation table" which corresponds to the guide glyph. use the word from f to add the following sentence:
if it's a portal day, there will be a * to indicate it. if so, add this sentence:
:: find kin on harmonic module to discover if the day is a galactic activation portal day (purple squares) - opens in popup!
the tzolk'in is the 1st level of the mayan calendar. it is 260 days in length. it represents the interaction of the 20 day solar cycle and the 13 day galactic cycle. each day, energy is present on earth from many sources, but the solar energy and the galactic energy are very important in understanding the energy of each day. in understanding the tzolk'in cycle, think of the solar energy and the galactic energy combining and interacting with each other. if we multiply the numbers 20 and 13, we get 260. there are 260 combinations of the solar and galactic energies.
the tzolk'in chart (above) illustrates the tzolk'in cycle. the 20 day solar cycle is represented on the vertical axis of the rectangle. the 20 day solar cycle starts with dragon at the top and ends with sun at the bottom. each of the 13 columns represents one 20 day cycle. within each of the 260 squares that makes up the rectangle, the 13 day galactic cycle is represented by a number 1 through 13. if you look at the 1st column at the top and go down the column, you'll notice that the numbers start at 1 and increase up to 13. then the numbers start again, at 1 and 7 is the number at the bottom of the 1st column. the 13 day cycle count resumes at the top of the 2nd column with 8 and continues up to 13. then there is another full cycle of 13 in the 2nd column. the 3rd cycle of 13 starts at the bottom of the 2nd column and continues at the top of the 3rd column. the cycles of 13 continue down each column and continuing at the top of the next column until 20 cycles of 13 are completed at the bottom of the 13th column.
the kin days of the tzolk'in chart (above) illustrates the flow of the tzolk'in cycle. the kin days chart looks very similar to the tzolk'in chart. what's different is the number in each of the squares of the rectangle. in the kin days chart, the number in each square shows the kin day which is basically a numbering of all 260 days of the tzolk'in cycle. if you look at the 1st column at the top and go down the column, you'll notice that the numbers start at 1 and increase up to 20. then the 2nd column has the numbers 21 through 40. the 3rd column has the numbers 41 through 60. the kin days count continues until it reaches 260 at the bottom of the 13th column.
each kin day corresponds to a specific galactic signature. for example, my galactic signature is blue magnetic night and my kin number is 183. now if you find the number 183 on the kin days chart, you'll notice that it is found in the 10th column in the 3rd row down. you'll notice that the 3rd row of the both the tzolk'in and kin day charts is night. every kin day that occurs in the 3rd row is night (3) in the 20 day solar cycle. now, you go to the tzolk'in chart and look in the 10th column and the 3rd row. it that square is the number 1 which corresponds to the name magnetic in the 13 day cycle (refer to the 13 tones chart above for the names). since the 4 day earth cycle is synchronized with the 20 day cycle, night will always be blue. so you can see the direct correspondence of the kin day 183 with blue magnetic night.
you can also easily figure out your kin number (kin day) from your galactic signature using the 2 charts. first, on the tzolk'in chart, find the row that corresponds to the last word of the galactic signature. for example, if i were finding the kin number for blue magnetic night, i would use the 3rd row which is labeled night. now you refer to the 13 tones chart on above to find the number which corresponds with the 2nd word of the galactic signature. in blue magnetic night, the 2nd word is magnetic which corresponds to the number 1. so now, on the tzolk'in chart, you examine the 3rd row (night) and find which column of the 3rd row contains the number 1 (magnetic). in the 3rd row, the number 1 occurs in the 10th column. now go to the kin days chart. locate the square in the row and column that you located on the tzolk'in chart. inside that square is the kin number which corresponds to the galactic signature. in the case of blue magnetic night, it is 183.

you probably have noticed that some of the squares of the tzolk'in chart have a black background with white numbers. these squares correspond to special days called galactic activation portal days. as the ancient maya studied the energy cycles of earth, they observed that on some days, there is an opening, a window, or portal in which energies flow between dimensions. on these days, we add the line, "i am a galactic activation portal ... enter me" to the affirmation of the day. on portal days, by saying these words, you ask the creator, hunab k'u, to allow these special activation energies to flow through you and enter the earth plane through you so that mother earth may receive them. being the conduit of these energies will have the effect of opening your being to be activated. most often, the portals are only open for 1 day. however, on kin days 50 & 51, 210 & 211, and 260 &1, the portal is open for 2 days. on kin days 106 through 115 and kin days 146 through 155, the portal opens for 10 days. when you tune in to these portals, we may notice that your life is quite different during the portal openings.
the pattern that is formed by the galactic activation portal days is interesting. many see a helix pattern very similar to the double helix of human dna. another perspective is to imagine several tzolk'in cycles next to each other. the pattern that is formed from this is the pattern that is found on the skin of the rattlesnake. the rattlesnake was revered by the ancient maya and many cultures where these snakes live.

the core days refers to the 20 solar cycle which occurs right in the middle of the tzolk'in cycle. it is the period of time from kin day 121 through 140. this period can be thought of as a portal, but different than the galactic activation portals. during the core days, the core of our being is being worked on and elevated. the mayan energies from the star maya, the 3rd star of the pleiadian system, uork with us as individuals to assist us and thereby assist mother earth.

the maya were aware of their close connection with the constellation pleiades and the orbital path of our solar system around the star alcyone, the central sun of the pleiades. the pleiades is also known as the seven sisters. from our vantage point, we see the pleiades as 7 stars. actually there are 8 stars that make up the pleiades and our sun is the 8th star of the pleiades constellation. the entire constellation, including our entire solar system, forms a vast spiral in the milky way galaxy. it takes about 26,000 years for our sun to travel around alcyone. the maya refer to this as the grand cycle.
there is a band of light that runs through alcyone that extends out into the spiral. as our sun travels around alcyone, it goes in and out of this photon band. our sun passes through the photon band for about 2000 years and out of the band for about 11,000 years. the entire cycle consists of our solar system passing into the photon band (2000 years), back into the galactic night (11,000 years), in again (2000 years), and back out (11,000 years).
the sun is orbiting alcyone and the earth is orbiting the sun. as a result of this fact, the earth makes contact with the photon band before the sun does. as the sun approaches the photon band, the earth goes in and out of the photon band until the entire orbital path of earth is within it. on the spring equinox, the earth is at its closest point to edge of the photon band. around the spring equinox of 1987, after about 11,000 years in the galactic night, earth re-entered the photon band, beginning the completion of the grand cycle. the orbital path of the earth caused the earth to stay in the photon band for 1 week in 1987. each year, the sun draws closer and closer to the photon band. in 1988, the earth was in the photon band for 3 weeks. in 1996, earth was in the photon band from about jan 18th to may 23rd. each year, the amount of time increases until the winter solstice of 2012 when the entire orbital path of earth is in the photon band which is the completion of the grand cycle. this is also the date which the mayan calendar ends.
as the grand cycle nears completion, something very interesting is also happening in the pleiades constellation. the star maya is the 3rd star of the pleiades constellation. the star maya passes through the photon band for about 2000 years and out of the band for about 1,200 years. it's orbital path around alcyone is shorter since it is closer to alcyone. our sun will enter the photon band in 1998 and become completely within the band by 2002. as our sun leaves the galactic night and enters the band, the star maya also enters the photon band. these two stars are synchronized at this time. as the star maya returns to the photon band, the mayan beings of light are returning to earth to assist us as the grand cycle comes to completion. grand events are about to occur and ancient wisdom is returning to earth. know that you have all chosen to be here on earth at this time to experience what will be.

first, the dreamspell calendar and the mayan calendar are not completely the same. they both are based on the tzolk'in, the 260 day cycle of solar and galactic energy interaction. the 20 day energy cycle is coming from our sun and the 13 day energy cycle is coming from the galactic center. thus 260 combinations of these energies occurs. both systems are in alignment about the 260 day cycle.
long before the julian and gregorian calendars were established, the mayan calendar was well established. since the concept of a leap year was introduced by the julian calendar, it seems very unlikely that the mayan calendar would embrace the concept that the cycles would not advance on 'leap day' since 'leap day' did not exist at that place in linear time.
the mayan calendar is oriented to 52 year cycles. in 52 orbits of the earth around the sun, 73 tzolk'in cycles (260 day) occur. after 52 years, the maya would acknowledge 13 special days before the next 52 year cycle began. this corresponds to the 1/4 day of time each year that the gregorian calendar uses 'leap day' to correct for. in the mayan calendar, the 13 special days every 52 years keeps the calendar in alignment with the seasons. in the gregorian calendar, the extra day every 4 years, keeps it in alignment with the seasons.
in december of 1995, i had the great honor of discussing the calendars with hunbatz men from merida, yucatan, mexico. hunbatz is a mayan shaman and daykeeper who has been taught by his ancestors about the mayan calendar. he told me that josé argüelles, who brought the dreamspell calendar to us, was not in agreement with 'the longcount'. the longcount is the count of days and cycles that the indigenous maya have maintained since they established their calendar, generation to generation. as far as i know at this time, the mayan daykeepers did not skip leap day. furthermore, according to hunbatz, the dreamspell calendar is not off by just 1 day, but 97 days according to my calculations. he also told me that to consider the 260 day cycle of the tzolk'in without considering the 365 day haab cycle was incorrect. (the interaction of the tzolk'in and the haab is the basis of the 52 year cycle.)
in support of josé argüelles and the dreamspell calendar, i have this to say. josé recognized the great force of the gregorian calendar to move us away from natural time and the honoring of the energy cycles. this has had a very detrimental effect on our mother earth as humanity has been drawn further and further away from nature and our roles as humans, guardians of mother earth. i feel that skipping leap day in dreamspell calendar serves to remind us of the artificial basis of the gregorian calendar. it is my understanding that josé feels that february 29th is an artificial manifestation of the gregorian calendar and therefore it does not exist in natural time.
on february 29, 1996, the sun did rise and set, but the dreamspell energy cycles did not advance. for me personally, it was a very unusual day and i felt an energy unlike any other day. i do feel that the energy cycles of the dreamspell calendar are still in alignment with its energy, an energy which urges us to return to a place of honoring mother earth and a return to a unified humanity.
in conclusion, i feel it is more important to acknowledge that the 20 day cycle and the 13 day cycle are real. i visualize these energies as waves of energy that are present every day. what we are really talking about here is the phase relationship of these waves. certainly, it would be the best we were both at the same frequency and phase of the waves. we are at the same frequency of the waves, 20 days and 13 days. to make an analogy to music, let's say we have 2 different instruments playing the same note. each instrument creates a wave at the same frequency. even if the phase of the wave is not the same, we still hear it as the same note and the energy of the 2 waves are aligned. to me, it is more important to be at the right frequency.
when i found out that my galactic signature was blue magnetic night, i resonated very strongly. i sat and cried in joyful rememberance. i have worked through the calculations both ways, skipping leap day and not skipping leap day. the only way it comes out that my birthday is blue magnetic night is when i skip leap day in the calculations. i feel the portals on the portal days predicted by the dreamspell calendar. i am content to honor this resonance from within myself rather than embrace someone else's position about the phase of the 20 day and 13 day waves.

time is not linear. we have been taught to think of time as only going forward, from one point to another. i think it is more accurate to think of time as a spiral, as cycles. in an ancient time, our mother earth was pristine and all of her life forms lived in harmony and honor. it is possible to heal the earth and restore her to her pristine state by merging the ancient times with the present. to accomplish this, we must first rid ourselves of the limitation of believing that time is linear. the mayan and dreamspell calendars can assist us greatly in coming to a greater understanding of time. it is something that must be experienced. it is difficult to put into words because our language lacks the terms to express the nature of time.
we create our reality. for whatever reason or purpose, the mass consciouness of humanity is embracing linear time and creating a very limited reality. as each of us shifts out of the mass consciousness, it helps to change the whole. love and honor your mother earth. receive the galactic synchronization beam from the sun. sing the song of your soul. listen to your heart.
