the dreamspell or 13 moon calendar is a time keeping system intended to replace the gregorian calendar with a non-linear time count based on the lunar rhythm. it is derived from the sacred Mayan Tzolk'in of 260 days, sharing the use of the 13 day cycle of 'tones' and the 20 day cycle of 'seals'. the combination of the 13 numbered days and the 20 glyphs add up to the 260 individual days of the dreamspell.

the dreamspell cycles through each of the 260 days, beginning on 'magnetic dragon'. 'magnetic' being the first day in the numbered cycle and 'dragon', the first day of the glyph cycle. once the cycle is complete, it begins again at day one.

a year according to the dreamspell consists of 13 equal 'moonths' of 28 days roughly following the lunar cycles (364 days plus one 'day out of time' is 365 days). where the dreamspell differs from the Mayan sacred count is the basis for much confusion when first deciding to follow the 13 moon calendar. mainly, the dreamspell skips every feb 29th, making adjustment to follow the solar year. what this means is the dreamspell calendar is resetting its clock back one day every four years to keep the permanent cycle of 365 days in each year.

for those of us new to the dreamspell, this makes following the 365 day year simple and easier to follow from year to year. 13 'moonths' of equal length plus one 'day out of time' which occurs on july 25th. this 'day out of time' is a day to celebrate universal forgiveness, peace and artistic expression. many communities around the world get together to share this day promoting world peace and our connection to the earth. the following day is the first day of the new year.

Each of us were born on one of the 260 days of the Harmonic Module. The combination of qualities and energies present on the day of your birth are known as your Galactic Signature. Your Galactic Signature consists of the main Signature Kin which is represented by both a Galactic Tone and a Solar Tribe.
